Learn how ENBREL works
To understand how ENBREL works in your body, it’s important to look at the immune system to learn how plaque psoriasis can start.
Your immune system protects your body from infections and diseases. In plaque psoriasis, your immune system is not working properly. The immune system makes too much of a certain protein called tumor necrosis factor (TNF). The extra TNF can contribute to inflammation and lead to the thick, scaly, red skin of PsO.
ENBREL is a type of medicine called a biologic (a treatment often made from living cells). It’s designed to attach to TNF proteins to help block their activity and help relieve the symptoms of PsO.
What could improvement look like for you?
Since 2004, ENBREL has helped people with moderate to severe
plaque psoriasis (PsO) get clearer skin.
In medical studies in adults:
Nearly half of people had 75% skin clearance in 3 months.
Overall, about 3 out of 4 people had 50% skin clearance in 3 months (your results may vary).
Many people who saw improvement in their skin symptoms at 3 months, maintained clearance through 6 months.
It’s important to keep taking ENBREL as prescribed by your doctor to see how ENBREL might work for you. Keep in mind your results may vary. You may need to give ENBREL time to work.
